The composition of Stainless Steel 440C Sheets and Plates primarily includes chromium (16–18%), carbon (0.95–1.20%), manganese, silicon, along with trace amounts of molybdenum and nickel. This rich blend of carbon and chromium imparts remarkable hardness, corrosion resistance, and edge retention. The alloy boasts a tensile strength of approximately 760 MPa and a yield strength of around 450 MPa, achieving a Brinell hardness of up to 285 HB. It also retains good mechanical stability at higher temperatures, along with decent ductility and machinability following appropriate heat treatment.
